KP Astrology Marriage Prediction: Houses 2, 7 and 11

Marriage is the question people bring to an astrologer more than any other. KP astrology marriage prediction answers it with a fixed, rule-based method: one cusp decides whether marriage is promised, one set of houses times it, and the verdict is two-valued, PROMISED or NOT PROMISED. The whole analysis turns on the sub lord of the 7th cusp and on houses 2, 7 and 11.

Why Houses 2, 7 and 11?

Each house plays a distinct role in the marriage event:

• 2nd House - The family. Marriage adds a member to the family unit; the 2nd house carries the social and legal side of the union.
• 7th House - The spouse, the partnership and the marital bond. This is the core house of the matter, and its cusp decides it.
• 11th House - Fulfilment of a desire. Marriage is something wished for, and the 11th house is the house of wishes granted.

Which cusp decides a matter, and which houses that matter requires, are not inferred chart by chart. They come from a house-grouping table compiled from classical KP writing: for marriage the 7th cusp, houses 2, 7 and 11.

Step 1: Read the 7th Cusp Sub Lord at Three Levels

Take the planet that is sub lord of the 7th cusp. It is read at three levels: the planet itself, its star lord, and its sub lord. At each level, collect the house that level's planet occupies and the houses it owns. Nothing else is counted, and there is no fourth level; the star lord of the cusp itself plays no part in the verdict.

The result is a short list of houses the 7th cusp sub lord signifies. Everything that follows is a comparison of that list with the marriage houses and with the adverse houses.

Step 2: The Promise Test

If the 7th cusp sub lord signifies any one of houses 2, 7 or 11 at any of its three levels, marriage is PROMISED. One required house is enough; the sub lord need not signify all three.

Classical KP writing names houses 1, 6, 10 and 12 as adverse to marriage. These houses never subtract from a promise. If the sub lord signifies a marriage house and an adverse house together, the verdict is still PROMISED, annotated with difficulty: delays, obstacles, or friction after the event. Marriage is NOT PROMISED only when the sub lord is connected to the adverse houses exclusively, with no marriage house at any level.

A birth chart can only be judged from a correct birth time, and the 7th cusp sub lord can change within minutes. A KP reading therefore states how many minutes the recorded time could move before the 7th cusp sub lord changes, so you know how much weight the verdict can bear.

Love Marriage or Arranged Marriage

Whether a promised marriage is a love match or an arranged one is a second reading, not a different marriage rule. A 7th cusp sub lord signifying 2, 7 or 11 promises marriage, arranged by the family; if it is also connected to the 5th house, it is a love marriage. The 5th cusp sub lord confirms: signifying 7 or 11, love marriage; signifying 6 or 12, not a love marriage.

Step 3: The Significator Table

Before timing, KP lists the significators of houses 2, 7 and 11 in the classical grades:

• A - planets in the star of an occupant of the house
• B - occupants of the house
• C - planets in the star of the house lord
• D - the house lord

When a higher grade is empty the next one promotes. The grades are an order of preference, not marks to be added up; KP assigns them no numeric value. The table tells you which dasha lords are worth examining; it does not, by itself, deliver the marriage.

Step 4: Timing Through the Vimshottari Dasha

A promised marriage happens during a Vimshottari period whose lords signify the marriage houses. The test for delivery is stricter than the test for promise: the Maha, Antar and Pratyantar lords must jointly cover all of houses 2, 7 and 11, each lord supplying at least one different house, and the Maha lord must signify at least one of them. Promise takes any one house; delivery takes all of them. The dasha cannot give what the 7th cusp has not promised.

Every period inside the horizon that meets this bar is listed in time order, unranked. KP does not single one of them out, and it gives no percentage.

Step 5: Candidate Days From Transit Agreement

Inside a delivering period, transit narrows the moment. The Sun points to the month within a period of months; the Moon points to the days within a period of days. A day qualifies when that body's sign lord, star lord and sub lord are all among the period lords. Several candidate days per period are listed, unranked. Transit corroborates a period already chosen by the dasha; it never decides whether the marriage happens.

Marriage and Separation Are One Reading

Classical KP writing places marriage and separation on the same cusp. They are read once from the 7th cusp: one verdict, with the marriage houses 2, 7, 11 and the adverse houses 1, 6, 10, 12 both named, rather than two rows that contradict each other. Where KP writers state the marriage rule in more than one form, every form is judged and the reading says whether they agree.
