Job Change Prediction in KP Astrology

Job change prediction in KP astrology is a two-part reading: when the current job ends, and when the new one begins. Each part is its own matter with its own houses, both read from the 10th cusp, drawn from a house-grouping table compiled from classical KP writing. Leaving service turns on houses 1, 5 and 9; joining a new employer turns on houses 2, 6, 10 and 11. A change of job is the two together.

Understanding the House Logic

Job change is not a single event but a transition made of a loss and a gain:

• Leaving the current job - Houses 1, 5 and 9. Classical KP writing states these three directly as the houses of leaving service and changing vocation; some writers add the 12th for outright loss of a post. They are not derived from anything, and a reading does not manufacture adverse houses of its own.
• Getting the new job - Houses 2, 6, 10 and 11. These are the standard employment houses: income, service, profession and gain. The 11th house is what makes the change land as a fulfilled wish rather than a gap.

Each half is timed on its own. A period whose lords jointly cover the leaving houses brings the departure; a period whose lords jointly cover the joining houses brings the new post. The two may be the same period or successive ones, and a reading lists both sets in time order. A leaving period with no joining period in sight is a departure without a replacement yet; a joining period with no leaving period can mean an additional role taken on without giving up the current one.

Step 1: Read the 10th Cusp Sub Lord at Three Levels

Leaving service is read from the 10th cusp sub lord. Take that planet and read it at three levels: the planet itself, its star lord and its sub lord. At each level, collect the house that level's planet occupies and the houses it owns; nothing else counts, and there is no fourth level. If any of houses 1, 5 or 9 appears in the list, leaving or changing service is promised in the chart. KP writers give this rule in more than one form (1, 5, 9 for leaving; 1, 5, 9, 12 for loss of the post; 5, 9, 12 for resignation or retirement); a reading answers leaving, loss of the post and retirement each on its own rule.

Getting a job is read the same way from the same cusp: any one of houses 2, 6, 10 or 11 at any level promises the new post. One required house is enough. Classical KP writing states no separate adverse set for these two matters, so each verdict turns on the required houses alone. The 6th cusp sub lord answers a different question, whether the post is permanent: signifying 2, 10 or 11 promises a settled post, and here the writing does name 5 and 9 as adverse. Adverse houses never subtract from a promise; a 6th cusp sub lord signifying 5 or 9 alongside 2, 10 or 11 gives a post promised with difficulty, temporary or liable to change.

Step 2: List the Significators of Both Groups

Prepare significators for both groups using the classical grades (A: planets in the star of an occupant; B: occupants; C: planets in the star of the house lord; D: the house lord):

• Group A (leaving): significators of houses 1, 5 and 9
• Group B (joining): significators of houses 2, 6, 10 and 11

A planet that signifies houses from both groups, say the 5th and the 6th together, marks the point of transition: out of one service and into another. The grades are an order of preference, not marks to be added up; the table tells you which dasha lords deserve examination.

Step 3: Dasha Timing for the Job Change

A promised change is delivered by a Vimshottari period whose Maha, Antar and Pratyantar lords jointly cover all the houses that time it, each lord supplying at least one different house, with the Maha lord signifying at least one. The departure needs 1, 5 and 9 covered jointly; the new post needs 2, 6, 10 and 11 covered jointly. Promise takes any one house; delivery takes all of them, and a period cannot deliver what the cusp has not promised.

Every period inside the horizon that passes is listed in time order, unranked. KP does not single one of them out, and it gives no percentage. Inside a delivering period, candidate days come from transit agreement: the Sun for a period of months, the Moon for a period of days, a day qualifying when that body's sign, star and sub lords are all among the period lords. Several days per period, unranked; transit corroborates, it never decides.

Transfer vs Resignation

A transfer within the same organisation is a matter of its own. KP writers give it in more than one form: the 10th cusp sub lord signifying 3, 9, 10 and 11, or the 3rd cusp sub lord signifying 3, 10 and 12. The 3rd carries the order to move, the 9th house a distant or foreign posting, and the 12th house a change of surroundings. Resignation followed by a new employer is the two-part reading above: 1, 5, 9 for the departure, 2, 6, 10, 11 for the arrival.

For a better job specifically, classical KP writing reads the 11th cusp sub lord: signifying any of 2, 6 or 10, a better post is promised, delivered by a period whose lords jointly cover 2, 6 and 10.

Birth Time and Ruling Planets

The 6th and 10th cusp sub lords can change within minutes of birth time, so every KP reading states how far the recorded time could move before each sub lord changes. Ruling planets, which need a moment and a place of judgment, belong to horary work and birth-time correction; for a birth-chart reading they are shown for the record and decide nothing.
