Business Success Prediction Using KP Astrology

Business prediction in KP astrology answers four questions from one birth chart: is business promised at all, what kind of business suits the chart, which dasha periods can deliver a launch or a profit, and whether a partnership holds. The 7th house (trade, dealings with the public, partnerships), 10th house (profession, standing) and 11th house (gains) form the required group, with the 2nd house confirming that profit accumulates. Every answer comes from a cusp sub lord and the houses it signifies, never from a score.

Houses for Business: 7, 10, 11

• 7th House - Business, trade, independent professional activity, partnerships, dealings with the public. The 7th cusp is the cusp that decides whether business is promised.
• 10th House - Profession, career standing, reputation in the trade. Confirms that business is the professional path.
• 11th House - Profit, gains, income from business. Without it a venture may run without returning what it should.
• 2nd House - Accumulation: capital, bank balance, profit that becomes personal wealth.

Step 1: Job or Business - The Fundamental Question

Before predicting business success, settle whether business suits the chart at all. KP reads this from the 10th cusp sub lord, taken at three levels (the planet, its star lord, its sub lord) with the houses each occupies and owns:

• If it signifies the 7th house - business or self-employment is the natural path
• If it signifies the 6th house - service under others suits the chart
• If both the 6th and the 7th appear - the chart carries both: a job alongside a side business, or a move from one to the other in different dasha periods

Step 2: Is Business Promised? The Promise Test

The 7th cusp sub lord is read the same way, and the promise test is applied to the houses it signifies. Classical KP gives the business rule in more than one form (the 7th cusp sub lord with 2, 10 and 11; the 10th cusp sub lord with 2, 7, 10 and 11), and a reading gives the primary form's verdict and reports how many of the forms are promised. Taking the 7th cusp form:

• Signifying any one of houses 7, 10 or 11 - business is PROMISED
• Signifying a required house alongside the houses classical KP writing names against wealth (5, 8 and 12: speculation, sudden loss, expenditure) - still PROMISED, with difficulty: the venture runs, but through capital strain, setbacks or slow returns
• Connected to the adverse houses exclusively, with no link to 7, 10 or 11 at any level - NOT PROMISED

Adverse houses are stated by KP writers for each matter and they annotate the verdict; they never subtract from it. If the cusp denies business, the significators and the dasha cannot deliver it, and a reading says so rather than weighing it against later evidence.

Step 3: Nature of Business

Once business is promised, the planet that signifies the 7th and 10th houses, read with the sign on the 10th cusp, describes the field in which the venture is likely to sit:

• Mars on 7/10 - Real estate, construction, engineering services, manufacturing
• Mercury - Trading, retail, IT services, communication, publishing
• Venus - Fashion, beauty, hospitality, food, entertainment
• Saturn - Mining, agriculture, labour services, heavy industry
• Jupiter - Education, consulting, finance, legal services

This is description, not verdict. The field a planet suggests never decides whether business is promised; the cusp sub lord's house signification does.

Step 4: Timing the Launch

A launch belongs to a Vimshottari period whose Maha, Antar and Pratyantar lords jointly signify all of houses 7, 10 and 11, each lord contributing a different house, with the Maha lord signifying at least one of them. Promise needs any one house; delivery needs all of them. Every period inside the horizon that meets this bar is listed in time order, unranked: classical KP gives no rule for preferring one of them, so the reading names them all and none above the others.

Inside a delivering period, candidate days come from transit agreement: the Sun for a period of months, the Moon for a period of days, a day qualifying when that body's sign, star and sub lords are all among the period lords. Several days per period, unranked. Transit corroborates the dasha; it never decides on its own. Ruling planets need a moment and a place of judgment, so they take no part in timing a matter from the birth chart.

Periods whose lords cover none of 7, 10 or 11 cannot deliver a launch, and a reading states that plainly rather than grading them.

Step 5: Partnership Analysis

For a partnership the 7th cusp sub lord is again the deciding cusp. Signifying 7 or 11 at any of its three levels promises the partnership. Partnership and separation from the partner are a pair on the 7th cusp, and KP reads the pair once: 7 and 11 for the partnership, 6 and 12 for the separation. If the sub lord signifies both sides, or a required house alongside the 8th (sudden breaks), the partnership is still promised, annotated "with difficulty": disputes or an abrupt dissolution are indicated inside a partnership that does happen. It is not promised only when the sub lord is connected to the adverse houses exclusively. A partner's own prospects are a separate reading of the partner's own chart; a KP reading answers one chart at a time.

Profit and Loss Periods

Business runs in cycles that the dasha lays out. Periods whose lords jointly cover 2, 10 and 11 deliver profit. Periods whose lords signify 8 or 12 (the houses classical KP names for loss in business) without covering 2 and 11 are lean stretches: reduced income, capital tied up, expenditure ahead of returns. They are annotations inside a promised business, not a fresh denial of it. Knowing which stretches are which lets the owner plan expansion for the delivering periods and hold reserves through the lean ones.

Birth-Time Sensitivity

The 7th and 10th cusp sub lords can change with a few minutes of birth time. Every reading states how many minutes the recorded time could move before each cusp's sub lord changes, so you know how much of the verdict rests on the accuracy of the birth record.
