KP Health Prediction — Illness & Recovery Timing

Health is the most sensitive area in KP astrology, and KP health prediction is deliberately conservative. The reading does not name a disease, does not time death or life span, and prescribes no remedy. What it does is judge the health rules classical KP writing states — general health from the 1st cusp, illness, surgery and cure from the 6th cusp — with a two-valued verdict, PROMISED or NOT PROMISED, and then list the Vimshottari periods that can deliver each promised matter. • 1st house — vitality, the body, physical resilience.

Classical KP writing states 6, 8 and 12 as the houses adverse to health. They are stated per matter, not derived by any counting rule, and they never subtract from a promise: a 1st cusp sub lord that signifies 11 alongside 6 still promises health — the reading marks it "promised, with difficulty". A matter is NOT PROMISED only when its sub lord connects to the adverse houses exclusively.

1st Cusp Sub Lord — Where KP Health Prediction Starts

General health is read from the 1st cusp. Its sub lord is read at three levels — the planet, its star lord, its sub lord — and at each level the houses that planet occupies and owns are collected. If any one of houses 1 or 11 appears, good health is PROMISED; if the collected houses are only 6, 8 and 12, it is NOT PROMISED under that rule, and the reading shows the houses that decided it.

What the reading does not do: it does not grade the sub lord, does not read retrogression into a birth-chart verdict (classical KP scopes that to horary), and does not weigh a benefic against a malefic. The sub lord's houses decide; the annotations say the rest.

Because a cusp's sub lord can change within a few minutes of clock time, the Ask a Question reading states its birth-time sensitivity: how many minutes the recorded time could move before the sub lord changes.

Illness and Cure — One Cusp, One Verdict

Classical KP reads illness and its cure from the same cusp, the 6th, so the reading judges them once. Cure is promised when the 6th cusp sub lord signifies any one of houses 1, 5 or 11; illness that resists cure shows when that sub lord is connected to 6, 8 and 12 exclusively. One verdict, with both sides' houses named — never two rows contradicting each other.

Surgery is a separate rule on the 6th cusp, against houses 6, 8 and 12, and neither it nor illness is withheld: both are read in a question that asks about them and in the Health Deep Dive. An unsolicited report never names a disease; if you name your own condition in a question, the reading gives the classical KP rule for it where one exists — as promised or not promised, never as a diagnosis.

Timing. A Vimshottari period delivers a promised matter only when its Maha, Antar and Pratyantar lords jointly cover all of that matter's timing houses (for cure: 1, 5 and 11), each lord supplying a different house. Every qualifying period is listed in time order, unranked. Inside each, candidate days come from the Sun (for a period of months) or the Moon (for a period of days) transiting with sign, star and sub lords all among the period lords — several days, never one. The reading names these periods so you can schedule check-ups and plan treatment; it is not fatalistic, and it is not medical advice.

Recovery — and What the Reading Withholds

Recovery is timed by the periods whose lords jointly cover 1, 5 and 11; discharge from hospital is its own rule, read from the 4th cusp against 2, 4 and 11 and timed by the same houses. No single house or planet outranks the rest as a recovery signal — the joint period either meets the bar or it does not.

Longevity (Ayur) is a matter classical KP reserves and every reading on this site withholds — no life span, no death date, and the 8th cusp is never read for it.
